Me and Jeev Vinoy(a friend of mine from college) were siiting in our college canteen havin our lunch when we struck into a heavy debate. Why arent capacitors used to charge? why arent therepower banks for car batteries. the thought got us researching on the topic and we learned about ultracapacitors.
Beauiful invention, they can store heavy charge and can discharge very quickly.
But why arent the used as the car battery it self,,,..... the answer was. that theyd be bigger in size..... so we thought why not use them to charge the batteries ...... thus the UFC was born ... it came to life in our minds. we has to learn how to make a product out of it, I had just gone through a 2 month workshop conducted by Mr Rajesh Nair , CTO Degree C under the MIT-TATA centre banner.... so I knew how to implement it and thatit is a highly commercalizable product. We were planning on Staring up and the work on our idea and sell our product, and suddenly a friend of mine suggested we apply to Techtop Innovation contest..... and thus we applied.
We tried to get hold of an ultracapacitor for months but none of the dealers shipped to kerala, and all thanks to God, I think of calling Mr Paul Anand , CEO of Biotz,a company which prints 3DPs whom i met via Rajesh. Thankfully he had a 1.5 F 5.5 V Supercapacitor , which he lent us. And after alot of hit and trial, a working prototype was developed
